this is fascinating. a russian photographer between 1909 & 1912 took these photos on Black & White negative film, but took three photos one after the other quickly, changing a colour filter in the camera each time so that in the future, the colours could be combined. It’s hard to believe these pictures were taken 100 years ago…

So tomorrow I start my journey to Cartagena, Colombia to film the next in a series of short promotional videos for Hay Festival. Apparently Cartagena is a beautiful city and judging from these photographs that seems to be a pretty accurate description !
